Silver award winners
Bondholder Derby Teaching Schools Alliance (DTSA) has been honoured with a Silver Award at the Pearson National Teaching Awards 2020.
Nominated for its outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children they work with every day and selected from thousands of entries, DTSA won its award in 'Impact through Partnership' category and is one of just 76 Silver Award winners across the UK.
The charity is made up of from local schools which run Continuing Professional and Leadership Development (CPLD); Initial Teacher Education (ITE) with fellow Bondholder the University of Derby; science CPLD with STEM Learning UK; Governance Support and school-to-school support with local schools support to make sure children across Derby/shire receive the best education possible.
DTSA is now in the running for one of just 14 Gold Awards later in the year, in a programme which will be broadcast on the BBC, a great opportunity to celebrate the exceptional school staff who have worked wonders during an incredibly challenging time for educators across the country.
Dr Deborah Outhwaite, Director of Derby Teaching Schools Alliance, declared:
“DTSA are really delighted to accept this national award, and feel that it is a real vindication of the efforts that we have put into our partnership work across Derby City and Derbyshire with schools, leadership teams, governors, and collaboratively training people to teach with the University of Derby. We are now in the running for a televised ‘teaching oscar’, and will be attending on behalf of all partners.”
