A developer has started work on a project that will see two large retail stores built at a new trade park.

Clowes Developments is leading the project to create a new Lidl supermarket and a Wickes DIY store at Stadium Trade Park, in Long Eaton.

It is working with IMA Architects, the principal designer for the scheme, as well as Millward Consulting Engineers and Roe Developments, to deliver the site.

The 1.68-hectare Stadium Trade Park is being built on a brownfield former industrial site that has been derelict since 2014.

Completion is expected next year and once finished, the site will feature the new stores, car parking for 157 vehicles, a service yard and associated boundary treatments and landscaping.

Marc Freeman, director at Clowes Developments, said: “We are delighted to welcome both Wickes and Lidl to Stadium Trade Park.

“The site has been in the planning stage since 2018, so it’s great that we are now up and running on the build.”
