Sammie steps up at conference centre

Derby Conference Centre has announced the appointment of a new marketing manager.

Sammie O’Neill has been promoted to the newly-created role, with the aim of enhancing the presence of the venue around the Midlands.

In the new role, she will be working on a new marketing strategy, all digital marketing, brand awareness and strengthening customer relationships in all aspects of the business.

She originally joined the venue in 2020 on a one-year student placement within the sales and marketing team.

After graduating with a first-class Event Management degree from the University of Derby, she then went on to secure a full-time role at Derby Conference Centre, working her way up to senior sales and marketing executive.

General manager Richard Jones said: “I’m delighted to announce the promotion of Sammie as marketing manager.

“Derby Conference Centre has a vast opportunity for growth with the variety of offerings – which I know Sammie in her new role will only enhance.”
