Repton celebrates ‘outstanding’ GCSE results success
After an impressive set of A-Level results, Repton School has been toasting the success of its GCSE pupils.
Last week, students collected their results, with over 61% of entries awarded grades 7 to 9.
While the national grade proportions were lowered, Repton bucked the trend and improved year-on-year results.
This year, a significant number of pupils gained more than seven 9’s.
As with Repton’s A-Level recipients, this cohort endured unprecedented circumstances in their formative years as a result of the pandemic.
From remote learning to year-group bubbles, the school said they had “overseen adversity and demonstrated just how impressive their personal achievements are”.
Headmaster Mark Semmence said: “Congratulations to all our candidates who received their GCSE results.
“This is the culmination of applied study, perseverance, positivity, and unwavering support from Repton staff.
“These results demonstrate that whatever passions Reptonians may have, they are supported in every aspect of school life and are well-prepared as they move on to the next stage of their education.
“This is a true testament to the balanced education that we offer here at Repton.
“We look forward to welcoming them into our Sixth Form in the new academic year.”
