Derby Book Festival has launched a search for a new chair and treasurer.

Now established as one of the region’s leading arts festivals, the Derby Book Festival has grown in popularity and stature since its inception in 2015.

Every year, it attracts thousands of people, both young and old, to venues across the city for readings, book launches and author talks.

It has been successfully led by a strong team of committed, enthusiastic trustees since it began.

And under the inspirational leadership of both Liz Fothergill CBE, as festival chair, and Lisa Richards as treasurer, the festival has established itself as of one the country’s top literary events.

However, both Liz and Lisa have now served three terms of three years each and feel it is time to hand over the reins.

Derby Book Festival has now launched a search to find their replacements.

To view details for both voluntary roles visit https://www.derbybookfestival.co.uk/news/2023/derby-book-festival-seeks-new-chair-and-treasurer .

Applicants should send in an ‘expression of interest’ explaining why these roles interest you and what you feel you could offer the festival as either chair or treasurer.

Applicants should also include a copy of their CV and send their applications to festival board trustee and chair of the search committee Professor Keith McLay at k.mclay@derby.ac.uk.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 30 October.

Anyone who would like to discuss the roles further should e-mail Professor McLay.

In the meantime, organisers are currently preparing for the ‘Autumn Edition’ of the festival, which is set to take place at QUAD from 17 to 19 November.

And in 2024, they are planning to hold three festivals across the year, as well as further develop its successful community programmes.
