Rolls-Royce Win $580 million Contract
Aerospace giant and Bondholder, Rolls-Royce has signed a contract with Vietnam Airlines, worth $580 million.
In the presence of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and UK Prime Minister David Cameron, the contract agrees that Rolls-Royce will provide support for the Trent XWB engines, which will power 14 Airbus A350 XWB aircrafts.
The Trent XWB engine is designed, developed and manufactured at Rolls-Royce’s site in Sinfin.
The signing comes weeks after Vietnam Airlines became the second airline in the world to operate the Airbus A350.
The news comes in the same week the manufacturing icon had been given permission to push ahead with plans to modernise its city operations with a brand new aerospace campus.
Fellow Bondholder Derby City Council has also granted permission to change the existing road infrastructure to facilitate a unified site.
