Derby recruitment firm reveals further expansion
Derby-based Sky Recruitment Solutions is to expand its East Midlands presence by taking space at one of Staton Young’s Cubo serviced office sites.
The company, based in The Strand, has been a specialist provider of personnel for industrial roles since 2014.
But in the wake of a flurry of white-collar enquiries, managing director David Torrington, has decided to supplement his industrial recruitment business by putting extra investment behind sister brand, Capella Professional.
He said: “We developed the Capella Professional brand about a year ago, so we could start servicing the demand for office-based roles across the East Midlands, without in any way diluting the industrial expertise of Sky Recruitment Solutions.
“Of course, with the Covid-19 pandemic, it made no sense to give the new brand its formal launch in 2020 – but now that there is a selection of workable vaccines emerging, alongside a surge in new roles and new candidates for 2021, this feels like the perfect time to give Capella Professional the backing it deserves.”
The new office, which is in Nottingham, is housed in the latest of Cubo’s multi-use portfolio of shared work centres.
David said: “I’m a Nottingham lad and I’ve always dreamed of setting up a Nottingham office, so I’m really delighted with the vibrant, business-friendly flexibility of Cubo’s new city centre hub.”
While David will take on the initial responsibility for setting up the new office, he is now actively looking for a full-time business manager to take the reins, develop the website, build a team and market the brand.
If all goes to plan, he will then continue to build the business with a view to employing between four and five people by the end of 2021.
He said: “For the business manager of the first dedicated Capella Professional office, this will feel very much like having your own company.
“Training will, of course, be given but I want someone with the drive and personality to really put their own stamp on it so that, as it continues to build, it feels as much like their baby as mine.”
