Apartments scheme up for top award

Derby’s first ever built-to-rent apartments scheme, owned by Grainger, has been shortlisted for an architectural award.
The Condor, which formed part of the first phase of the £200 million Becketwell regeneration scheme, has been shortlisted in the Residential category of the RICS Awards.
The awards celebrate the best of the built environment from across the country.

Located on the former Debenhams site in Victoria Street, The Condor, which features 259 apartments, is named after one of the first engines built by Rolls-Royce.
It comprises a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
In a statement, Grainger said: “The Condor is a pioneering development that has redefined city living in Derby and is helping transform the local area.
“Setting a new benchmark for renters, The Condor embodies high quality design and materials, a best-in-class rental offering and a commitment to sustainability and community.”
