College thanks employers for transforming students’ lives
Derby College Group has thanked local employers for helping to transform the lives of its students at a recent Marketing Derby Bondholder event.
More than 70 business owners and leaders attended the event, which took place at the college’s Roundhouse campus.
Derby College Group supports 15,000 students every year and works in partnership with 2,000 employers.
Some of those employers were at the event to give presentations, including Keith Cox, director at Bloc Digital, Gareth Hague, business and relations lead at Alstom and Faye Leatt, project coordinator at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
Carol Dixon, director of employer partnerships at Derby College Group, said: “I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all the employers that work with us and thank all those that took the time to share their experiences at this event.
“The employer input is invaluable, and they also have seen the benefits from the partnership.
“These are exciting times in further education and particularly for Derby College Group as we forge new partnerships and working relationships – most importantly with employers across the public and private sectors.
“And if anyone would like to support the college, that would be really welcomed, it could be by joining an Employment and Skills Board, giving a guest lecture, offering work experience or an apprenticeship, any support is appreciated.”
Lindsey Hatfield, commercial development manager at Marketing Derby, said: “Marketing Derby was delighted to work with Derby College Group on bringing Bondholders together to hear about the benefits of working with the college, and also to demonstrate how its innovative Business Centre is helping deepen relationships with employers.”
