Doughnut firm opens flagship store
Doughnut firm Project D has opened its first new permanent store with more in the pipeline.
This month, the company, which has its purpose-built 11,000 sq ft bakery in Derby, opened in York.
The independently owned firm first launched in 2018. But up until now, the firm had largely sold its tasty treats as online deliveries and via kiosks and pop-up events around the UK.
Max Poynton, co-founder and marketing director at Project D, said: “ York holds a special place in our hearts and has been one of the top areas for our online sales and pop-up events since we launched the company.”
Max co-founded Project D with his former school friends Matthew Bond and Jacob Watts.
Project D has said it is planning to open at least three more stores over the next six months.
