Marina launches wellbeing initiative


Mercia Marina has announced a new wellbeing initiative, which aims to improve the mental welfare of its boaters and lodge owners.
The marina, near Willington, has introduced a Wellbeing Advocates scheme, to help support the more vulnerable people who is some cases may not have a support network of their own.
The advocates have been established to offer a helping hand and a listening ear for those who may need extra support.

So far, more than 30 people have signed up to be Wellbeing Advocates, who have pledged to support their neighbours.
In a statement, Mercia Marina said: “The Wellbeing Advocates initiative is a commendable undertaking that uplifts the entire community, safeguarding the best interests and wellbeing of all.
“It provides a lifeline for those who might otherwise be overlooked, breaking down barriers and fostering a culture of genuine care.”
