Nursery’s delight at new outdoor classroom
A family-run children’s nursery has taken delivery of a new outdoor classroom, designed and supplied by Cosy Garden Rooms.
As part of the renovation of the outdoor area at its Butterley Park site, in Ripley, Clowns Nurseries approached Cosy to design the classroom to allow the children to learn outdoors.
Carly Stevenson, director at Clowns, which offers pre-school care from birth to five years old, said: “Not only does our garden look fantastic the children love the new indoor/outdoor room.
“It feels special to go there. They feel like they are outside when actually they are inside.
“The thing that has surprised us the most is how the children behave, they are calmer, more relaxed, they concentrate more and overall, are better behaved in the natural environment. We never expected that but it’s amazing!”
The renovations at the Butterley Park nursery consisted of groundworks, landscaping and the new outdoor classroom.
Carly said: “Cosy Garden Rooms designed and built the building from scratch; we are delighted.”
Cosy Garden Rooms, which was established in 2021, is made up of a team of experienced joiners and garden room designers and builders.
Mark Jennison, who designed the Butterley Park nursery building, said: “It’s great to hear such positivity from Clowns with schools and nurseries being so much in the news at the moment with the dreadful RAAC situation.
“Clowns has a great building – a quick and efficient solution to the need for extra space; all built within five days.”
