Pupils to make a splash on European stage
Two pupils at Repton School are preparing to compete in a major international swimming event.
Hannah Bowley and Laurie Devine will be part of a 34-strong Team GB squad who will compete at the European Junior Swimming Championships, which take place in Belgrade, Serbia, in July.
It is the first time in the school’s history that they will have pupils competing as part of Team GB.
Hannah will compete in breaststroke events and Laurie will feature in freestyle events.
Ash Morris, director of swimming at Repton, who will be in Belgrade as part of the Team GB coaching team, said: “As an upcoming swimming programme, it is fantastic that we have two of our swimmers selected to represent their country for the first time – they should be extremely proud and enjoy the opportunity.
“As young swimmers, they will forever be a big part of the Repton legacy and will inspire swimmers within our school.”
