Time running out to nominate for Food and Drink Awards
A record 4,000-plus nominations have been received for the Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards – with just days to go before entries close.
Nominations are due to close on Friday 21 July – and the number of entries has already eclipsed the 3,000-plus nominations received for last year’s awards.
Launched on 23 June, the awards are designed to shine a light on Derby’s brilliant food and drink businesses, recognising and celebrating the very best places to eat and drink across the city.
Featuring 12 categories, the awards have been designed to allow as many food and drink businesses as possible to enter.
This year’s categories include Best Café, Best Pub, Best Bar and Best Country Pub / Restaurant.
There are also awards for Excellence in Customer Service, Best Newcomer, Best Overall Experience and Most Family Friendly. A returning category for this year is Best International.
There will also be an award presented on the night recognising Outstanding Achievement.
It is a particularly special year for the awards, as this year they will celebrate their 15th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, a special Anniversary Award will be presented to the establishment which, over the years, has been consistently excellent.
Marketing Derby will also be producing a special Food and Drink Guide as part of the 15th anniversary.
Nominations are welcomed from the public, the business community and the food and drink outlets themselves.
Once nominations close, judges will round them down to a shortlist of finalists, who will be announced in August.
The winners will then be revealed at an awards ceremony, which will take place at The Chocolate Factory on Monday 9 October.
