Top apprenticeship award for Janet

A director at Sort Legal has won a regional award for her work supervising the company’s team of apprentices.

Janet Quinlan-Jones, who is also line manager for the remortgage team at the law firm, was named Mentor of the Year at the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Apprenticeship Awards.

The awards seek to identify organisations and individuals who have made a significant impact on the development of apprentices.

Janet is responsible for a team of apprentices, including those who have recently completed their apprenticeships and have been promoted.

She provides a broad range of coaching and development support, ranging from quick catch-ups and on-the-job coaching to more formal one-to-one meetings and annual development plans.

Kevin Tunnicliffe, chief executive of the Sort Group, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of Janet and would like to congratulate her on winning Mentor of the Year.

“Apprentices are a key part of what we do at Sort Legal, and it’s great that our apprentices are mentored by someone as great as Janet.”
