University academics ranked among world’s best
Academics at the University of Derby have been ranked among the top scientists in the world, according to research by Stanford University.
Six of the university’s academics have been listed in the ‘World Ranking Top 2% Scientists’, a global list created as part of a study by Stanford.
The list is produced annually and features the world’s top two per cent of scientists using standardised information.
The study produces data for career-long and single recent year impact, with scientists classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields.
Among the University of Derby academics who are now classed as being in the global top two per cent are Professor Ray Bull, professor in criminal investigation, Professor Jose Garza-Reyes, professor of operations management and head of the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement and Professor Paul Gilbert, professor of clinical psychology.
They are joined by Professor Alex Molasiotis, pro vice-chancellor dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Education, Professor Haywantee Ramkissoon, research professor of tourism marketing and Hugh Rollinson, emeritus professor of earth science.
