Washroom tech helps club score big savings
Washroom technology devised by HSG UK has helped a professional football club make substantial savings.
A year ago, the Derby firm installed its award-winning Ureco system at the 29,000-capacity University of Bolton Stadium, which is home to Bolton Wanderers.
Ureco urinal sleeves were installed in male washrooms for players, staff and fans around the stadium alongside 68 water managers.
Since then, water consumption has been reduced by nearly 14 million litres, which represents an annual water bill saving of £36,410 and a reduction in the club’s carbon footprint of 14.68 tonnes of CO2 a year.
As well as this, the washroom experience was improved for players, staff and fans alike through the elimination of blockages and odours.
Ben Cowcill, head of stadium and facility operations at Bolton, said: “This has been a win/win situation for Bolton Wanderers FC.
“By adopting HSG’s Ureco system, we are reducing our carbon footprint, saving water and money, which is good news across the board.”
